Beschreibung

Diabetes is among the major worldwide issue. The aim of the intended study was to assess the Vitamin D status in T2DM subjects in order to evaluate the relationship of associated potential risk factors. This cross sectional study was conducted on 90 Type 2 diabetic patients. Patients with age 38 to 67 years included 29 males and 61 females. Three groups were made based on glycemic level (mmol/L) and other demographic parameters including age (years), BMI (kg/m2), B.P (mm/Hg), personal history, socioeconomic status etc were recorded. The biochemical parameters including FPG (mmol/L), RPG (mmol/L), HbA1c(%) and lipid profile were measured by chemistry analyzer and Vitamin D level (nmol/L) was assessed by ELISA. Among these subjects, the mean ±SEM value of Vitamin D was measured 66.1±2.57nmol/L. According to the present study there was inverse correlation between glycemic level (mmol/L) and Vitamin D level (nmol/L).Present study revealed, there are certain factors including sun exposure, climatic conditions and seasonal variations that significantly influence the levels of Vitamin D (nmol/L).
